The police said that at 16:41 on the day of the incident, the police used Zhu’s mobile phone to communicate with Didi customer service for the first time after receiving a report from the victim’s friend Zhu Moumou, and indicated the identity of the police. Didi customer service replied that the security expert would intervene and asked to continue waiting for a reply. At 17:13, Didi customer service reported that the victim cancelled the order and did not get on the bus. The police again asked for the driver’s contact information or license plate number, but it was unsuccessful. At around 17:36, the police contacted Didi customer service again.

The police said that the situation was urgent. According to the police, Didi said that the situation could be expedited. At 5:49, Didi came back and said that we needed our police officer’s card and a letter of introduction, and then the police forwarded the relevant procedures to Didi’s relevant email. At 6:13, Didi sent us their inquiry, Didi’s license plate and the driver’s basic information."
It took 92 minutes for the police to communicate with Didi customer service and obtain the identity information of the suspect.
In the verification notice issued by the Wenzhou Public Security Bureau, the Yueqing police received the license plate number from Didi Company as Chuan A31J0Z. The license plate number of the vehicle seized by the police is also Chuan A31J0Z. The two are completely consistent. However, in the statement of Didi yesterday, it was mentioned that the license plate issued by the alleged offender Zhong was temporarily forged offline. Whether the alleged offender has a license plate is under further investigation.

When interviewed, the person in charge of Didi admitted that he had an unshirkable responsibility for the Wenzhou incident and promised to take down the Hitch business nationwide from August 27.
The Ministry of Transport said that the current Didi platform still has the operation of organizing illegal online car-hailing in the name of Hitch, which fully exposes the important problems and major security risks existing in the safety management of Didi. Especially after the Zhengzhou flight attendant was killed on Didi Hitch on May 5, Didi did not learn from it and carried out serious rectification to eliminate potential safety hazards.
Cai Tuanjie, deputy director-general of the Department of Transport Services of the Ministry of Transport, said: "From now on, unqualified vehicles and personnel shall not be connected, and orders shall not be sent to drivers who have not undergone safety review, and unqualified drivers and vehicles shall be cleared faster. The operation information and data of the online car-hailing platform shall be accessed in real time, in full and truthfully to the national online car-hailing supervision information exchange platform, and the data quality shall be ensured."
The Tianjin Municipal Transportation Commission, where Didi is registered, also requires Didi to further implement the main responsibility of enterprise safety production, not to disrupt the normal market order at a price lower than the operating cost, strictly regulate the development of ride-hailing business, and prohibit the use of the name of ride-sharing to engage in illegal online car-hailing business services.
