A new era of military sports reform is beginning. The process may be tortuous, but the goal is clear. The arrival of military physical education teachers in grass-roots units will certainly promote the improvement of the physical fitness of grass-roots officers and soldiers and the leap of combat effectiveness. Please pay attention to the report in the Liberation Army Daily published today:

The military physical education teacher is here.
■ Wang Chao
A new day has begun, and the familiar and loud morning running slogan sounds over and over again, penetrating the early morning of the carrier Liaoning ship.
Compared with the heavy tasks and missions undertaken by this big ship, physical exercise may be just a small link in their complicated work, but in Liu Shuli’s eyes, it is a major event related to combat effectiveness.
Liu Shuli, a graduate majoring in physical education, was appointed as a professional military physical education teacher on the aircraft carrier in 2017. On the Liaoning ship, a group of officers and men like Liu Shuli who went to the post of military physical education teacher are studying the military physical education training methods suitable for the officers and men of the aircraft carrier.
Under their organization, many officers and men who like to play football have changed to kicking shuttlecock, and the bed railings have become "horizontal bars and parallel bars". Dancing, hula hoop, skipping rope, darts, archery and even yoga are continuously added to the "training package" of officers and men. These sports training don’t need much space. As long as there is a rest time, everyone can do it next to their own living quarters, aisles and jobs.
At this time in 2016, Liu Shuli was also a student in the first batch of backbone training courses for military sports training staff of the whole army. He still remembers that before leaving for Nanchang for training, the captain and political commissar specially told him to sink down and "recharge".
That seemingly ordinary training was widely concerned by people in the industry because of the addition of the keyword military sports. There are indications that a new era of military sports reform is beginning.
In 2015, the Outline of Military Sports Training Reform and Development (2015-2020) was officially issued. When Professor Li Xueshan of the former Air Force Aviation University saw this thin booklet, he was very excited: "To comprehensively improve the level of military sports training in our army, we should solve the problem of shortage of training talents in grassroots units as a starting point."
When Liu Shuli became the first batch of the backbone training class for military sports training staff of the whole army, Fu Tao, then the company commander of a sea defense regiment, saw the news in the newspaper. At that moment, Fu Tao vaguely felt that a wave was coming. But he didn’t expect this wave to come so fast — — Only 10 months later, his maritime defense regiment merged with other units to form a new coastal defense brigade. He was promoted to the position of deputy instructor of the air defense battalion and received a new appointment — — Military physical education teacher.
Unlike the "small sports" on the "big aircraft carrier", Fu Tao’s camp is scattered on remote islands, and the training venues are not worrying. However, it is necessary to make overall plans to avoid missing training, but it is necessary to work hard.
In addition to military professional training, the company also has to perform patrol duties and other tasks, leaving Fu Tao with little time to organize sports training. Fu Tao should "carefully calculate" how to set up courses and organize implementation. Nowadays, with the efforts of Fu Tao, a network training system is slowly taking shape, and the venues for physical training are gradually expanding from gymnasiums and playgrounds to positions and outposts.
Looking at more troops in the whole army, military physical education teachers are coming! It is believed that with the participation of a large number of trendsetters like Liu Shuli and Fu Tao, the contribution rate of military sports to combat effectiveness will be increasing.

On-the-job for 150 days: Chen Zhenyu’s "Trouble"
■ Wang Chao
Five months ago, Chen Zhenyu, the deputy company commander of a coastal defense brigade of the army in the southern theater, was overjoyed when he was appointed as a military sports teacher of the company. Although he majored in electronic engineering during the military academy, he thought that this position was very appetizing.
This young officer who graduated for three years is not tall, but he has a resounding nickname — — Muscle man. Whether in the company or at home on vacation, the gym is a must-see place for Chen Zhenyu every day. It can be said that fitness exercise is his favorite.
After receiving the appointment of a military physical education teacher, Chen Zhenyu carefully conceived the training blueprint in his heart, bent on burning the "three fires" after taking office. To Chen Zhenyu’s surprise, this "three fires" not only didn’t burn, but he first encountered the suspicious eyes of the company soldiers.
The experience of some veterans has been handed down one after another, which has become the default "teaching material". It is too difficult to correct some unscientific methods.
That day, I saw that Chen Zhenyu was tinkering with the training plan, and the company correspondent was complete and bright, and he had such a dialogue:
"Deputy company commander, are military instructors really useful?"
"Why is it useless? The physical training in military schools is specially organized by teachers."
"The company is not a military school. I can’t think of anything else for military sports teachers except the card table."
"Anyone can watch the card. I am responsible for the physical training of the whole company."
"For so many years, the company has no military physical education teachers, and the training is not the same?"
A conversation, how embarrassing. At that moment, Chen Zhenyu had only one idea: to prove himself with facts, and to prove that military physical education teachers were by no means dispensable.
In those days, he held his breath, worked overtime to study the Outline of Military Sports Training and Assessment, and found many related teaching materials. After the preliminary plan came out, he also contacted Hao Xin, a military physical education teacher of his alma mater, National University of Defense Technology, and a doctoral graduate of Beijing Sport University, and asked him to check. After several revisions, this plan, which bears his full expectations, was finally approved by Dr. Hao.
Chen Zhenyu confidently took out the plan. Although the conversation with the correspondent made Chen Zhenyu psychologically prepared, he still didn’t expect the voice of doubt to be so strong: "These training methods are very new and look good, but I don’t know how effective they are in implementation." "It’s too unreliable. There is only so little time for physical training every day, and so many subjects are arranged without sweating." "We have never heard of many subjects, let alone how to organize them … …”
Fortunately, the company officials also recognized that this plan passed the first level. But then, Chen Zhenyu’s plan was almost defeated step by step.
Organizing five-kilometer training, many squad leaders feel that "it is a complete waste of time to run five kilometers to engage in so many preparatory activities"; Organizing interesting physical exercises, some people say that he is "not doing his job" and "organizing training is not true"; Organize small muscle group training, and several backbones directly told him that "no equipment can be found" … …
"In fact, the syllabus has very specific and clear requirements for military sports training, but many group training backbones would rather believe in their own experience than scientific methods." Chen Zhenyu said that the experience of some veterans has been passed down from generation to generation, which has become the default "teaching material", and it is too difficult to correct some unscientific methods.
Many military physical education teachers who are employed have more or less "Chen Zhenyu-style" troubles.
Chen Zhenyu’s Haiphong Brigade is a newly reorganized unit in 2017. After the reorganization, the grass-roots battalion company has a new post of military physical education teacher.
According to the requirements of the higher level, the military physical education teachers are temporarily held by the grassroots deputy, and a few companies without deputy establishment are held by the chief officers. Many military physical education teachers who take up their posts have more or less "Chen Zhenyu-style" troubles.
Talking about his own training experience, Li Zhenhang, a military physical education teacher of the first battalion of the brigade, is also very helpless.
There is a saying in the army that "artillery practice their mouths and infantry practice their legs". Li Zhenhang’s company is an infantry company, and many group training backbones regard this sentence as a standard.
After Li Zhenhang organized sports training according to his own method for a period of time, the squad leaders were anxious: "The training performance of recruits has not improved, and it is not as effective as the previous high-intensity and high-explosive training methods." However, Li Zhenhang was unmoved and insisted on gradual progress.
Some backbones obviously don’t buy this set. A few days later, the squad leader took the initiative to "add meals" to the recruits in the class: before dawn, the squad leader got up with the recruits. First, he sprinted back and forth on the steep slope to warm up. After sweating, he began high-intensity exercises such as single parallel bars, push-ups and duck steps until the whistle for dinner sounded.
Li Zhenhang wanted to stop it, but the monitor had his own reasons: they had a poor foundation, so they had to train more. His monitor practiced much harder than that.
However, the monitor was diagnosed with lumbar muscle strain shortly after attending the physical competition of his superiors, and had to stay in bed, so he could no longer do strenuous exercise with high intensity and heavy load.
"Training injuries are in the hearts of many grassroots officers and soldiers ‘ Pain point ’ Many injuries can actually be avoided through scientific group training. " Dr. Hao Xin, a military physical education teacher at the National University of Defense Technology, said that the duty of military physical education teachers in grass-roots units is to guide the company to organize sports training scientifically.
Obviously, not all officers and men can receive "scientific training" from the beginning. A considerable number of officers and men understand military sports as common training methods such as running and horizontal bar practice, but know little about the basic theory of military sports and the knowledge of training injury prevention.
There are still some doubts from the troubles of the concept of political achievements. Some grassroots officials bluntly said: "I also want to let go of my hands and feet to let the military physical education teachers play freely, but the physical examination results are an important indicator of the company’s military training. If it is messed up, who will bear the responsibility?"
This question mark is often on Chen Zhenyu’s mind. After 150 days on the job, he spent every day under such pressure, and some unexpected answers began to surface.
"That’s how I practiced it!" In the face of this veteran mantra, where is the "persuasiveness" of military physical education teachers?
During the stumbling training, Chen Zhenyu began to understand the officers and men who questioned him — —
I don’t know how much I have experienced relevant training and military sports training. It is normal for soldiers to question because they have no bottom in their hearts. Their own training experience is not enough, and their achievements are not obvious. Soldiers are naturally more willing to believe in their "role model" … …
Chen Zhenyu felt more and more that he was a "sudden" "barefoot doctor". How to make people believe in themselves? Behind the soldiers’ seemingly solidified thinking, they are actually not convincing enough.
"That’s how I practiced it!" This sentence, which is often said by some excellent old noncommissioned officers, has a strong "persuasion" among soldiers. The question that Chen Zhenyu has to face is, as a military sports teacher, where is his "persuasiveness"?
After figuring this out, Chen Zhenyu realized that the biggest worry is not that soldiers don’t understand themselves and don’t believe in scientific methods, but their own ability panic.
"Now look back at your own group training plan, there is indeed something wrong, and it is no wonder that everyone is hard to accept." Chen Zhenyu said that the newly revised Military Sports Training and Assessment Outline standardized more than 120 training courses in seven categories, such as basic physical fitness, practical skills and job adaptation. At that time, I only made my training plan by intuition, and although I consulted professionals, there were still many unrealistic and unreasonable places. To put it bluntly, the deep principles and laws of military training were not clear.
"I just found out now, ok ‘ Fitness instructor ’ Not necessarily a good military physical education teacher. " Chen Zhenyu said.
Now, Chen Zhenyu, who has been on duty for more than five months, has a lot of peace of mind. He finally found the starting point, began to learn the theory of military sports training, training injury prevention and other aspects, and constantly "learned" from military sports teachers in colleges and universities to study the characteristics and laws of grassroots sports training.
"Chen Zhenyu-style" troubles reflect not only the realities after the arrival of military physical education teachers, but also many subsequent topics.
Chen Zhenyu’s troubles came to an end for the time being. However, in this brigade, some military physical education teachers are still wandering in trouble, and some company physical education training has returned to the old routine.
Talking about this young team of military physical education teachers, Yang Zhenying, the brigade commander, is full of expectations, but he is also worried. "Although the team of military physical education teachers has been established, it is far from achieving the expected group training effect. This road is still very long." He said that some teachers regard part-time job as an irrelevant position and think that military sports training should be organized by the backbone; Some want to do well, but they have no confidence and courage, and they are worried that their ability is not enough; Some came up with ideas and formed plans, but the promotion soon ended because of various resistances.
"Chen Zhenyu-style" troubles not only reflect the realities after the arrival of military physical education teachers, but also many subsequent topics — —
For example, what role should military officials play in military sports training after military sports teachers are available at the grass-roots level?
For example, are there any follow-up training measures to make these "amateur" military physical education teachers professional?
For example, in addition to the administrative appointment of military physical education teachers, can we also adopt the method of competitive recruitment to increase the authority of the teaching staff … …
In a sense, this is a deeper "pain point" than training injuries. To solve this "pain point", it is obviously not enough to rely on the strength of one military physical education teacher.
Fortunately, Chen Zhenyu’s brigade has realized this.
They actively contacted military sports training experts in colleges and universities to carry out training in the army, optimized the training venue for military sports teachers, provided them with the necessary equipment and training AIDS, and at the same time included some cadres and soldiers with sports expertise into the military training organization system, striving to make this team strong.
The improvement of "hardware" is easy, but the design of supporting "software" is not so simple. "There are specific requirements for each post in the regulations, but what are the specific requirements for military physical education teachers?" Ning Yunfei, the brigade’s training staff, said that the supporting regulations and systems related to military physical education teachers have not yet been issued. They can only use their own understanding and learn from the experience of military physical education teachers in colleges and universities and some good practices in training the backbone of physical fitness training before to guide grassroots military physical education teachers.
The process may be tortuous, but the goal is clear. When talking about the future, both Ning Yunfei and Chen Zhenyu believe that the arrival of military physical education teachers in the grass-roots units will certainly promote the improvement of the physical fitness of grass-roots officers and soldiers and the leap of combat effectiveness.
Why do you need professional military physical education teachers at the grassroots level?
■ Wang Chao
On the day when the military physical education teachers appeared in the company, Lu Anhua, the squad leader of a coastal defense brigade in the southern theater, could not be calm for a long time.
This company was once recognized as a top physical training player. At its peak, its physical performance was "too good to have friends", and now it has been plagued by lumbar muscle strain for a long time. At the worst time, Lu Anhua even felt terrible pain when walking. During the days of bed rest, Lu Anhua recalled the scene of rushing to the finish line in order to improve his training performance more than once. "It would be nice if there were people who knew how to do it at that time." He said.
Lu Anhua’s hope is also the voice of most grassroots officers and men. "What do you care most about military sports training?" A survey initiated by a certain department shows that 99.7% of officers and men chose "reducing training injuries"; 94.6% of officers and men hope to "improve the training results"; 91.3% of officers and men hope that "the content of training will be richer and more interesting".
Behind these data are the needs and aspirations of grassroots officers and men for professional military physical education teachers.
"Some people think that military sports training is very simple and anyone can do it, but the reality is that many organizers simply don’t understand it, and some training concepts are wrong." Bao Yingchun, a professor at the Naval Military Medical University who has participated in the investigation of military sports in grass-roots units for many times, said that many companies organize military sports training that is the "old three" of 5 kilometers, sit-ups and push-ups, which is not only out of touch with the times, but also seriously out of touch with the current combat effectiveness of troops. "It’s not that ‘ Old three ’ No, but we must start from ‘ Old three ’ Come out. " He said.
In this regard, Li Zhenhang, a military physical education teacher of a brigade of the Army in the Southern Theater, said with the example of push-ups: "It’s not just how many to do, but also how to do it, such as standard, straight push, narrow push, wide distance, oblique down, different ways, different muscle groups to exercise." Different military skill training needs different single military physical training as the support. Only through targeted exercises of different muscle groups and coordinated physical sensitivity training can the soldiers’ bodies meet the needs of the battlefield better.
"The lack of professional military sports talents is the main reason for extensive training at the grass-roots level, and the tight combination of physical training and combat skill training is an urgent problem to be solved at present." Ni Hongjun, a military physical education teacher in the Common Subjects Teaching and Research Section of the Armed Police Engineering University, said that the imbalance of physical fitness of grassroots officers and soldiers is very common. Many soldiers have relatively strong endurance, but their strength, speed, coordination and flexibility are relatively weak, and the company’s basic ability training such as climbing, climbing, jumping, throwing, digging and moving is insufficient.
This imbalance can be seen in some course assessments. When the registration form of training results of grass-roots companies is opened, the excellent rate and passing rate of the "old three samples" course are much higher than those of the 400-meter obstacle and five kilometers light, which are closely combined with actual combat.
Ni Hongjun also found another phenomenon in one score registration form: the training scores of many companies have not been broken for many years.
In the 3rd Company of the 1st Battalion of this brigade, the record of the 400-meter obstacle is 1 minute and 34 seconds, which was created by a soldier named Tao Jihong five years ago and has been maintained to this day. It is worth mentioning that Tao Zhehong worked in a construction site before he became a soldier, and his physical fitness was very good.
"Today’s young people are in ‘ In the honey pot ’ Growing up, I spent my childhood in one classroom and one examination room. Insufficient physical exercise brought about a decline in physical fitness. " Yuan Xiong, director of the brigade’s political work department, said that times have changed, and the physical condition of officers and men has also changed. If there are no professional military sports talents, today’s training will still be guided by decades of "old methods", which will definitely affect the quality and efficiency of the generation of combat effectiveness.
In fact, the post of professional military physical education teacher appeared in some special combat units of our army as early as possible and played a decisive role.
There is a saying among air force pilots that every "golden helmet" has a "big heart". Just like an advanced fighter plane, in order to achieve outstanding performance, it must be made of high-quality materials. Just like the winner of the "Golden Helmet", if he wants to have extraordinary technical and tactical level, his overall physical quality must be outstanding.
"In the title ‘ Golden helmet ’ On the journey, the physical quality of pilots has always occupied an irreplaceable position, which is inseparable from professional guidance and training. " Wang Haifeng, the winner of the first "Golden Helmet" of the Air Force and a pilot, said that one of his important physiological indicators — — Lung capacity is improved in the sport of beach football. The development of this minority sport must be carried out under the guidance of professional coaches, otherwise it may lead to training injuries.
Beach football can help the "golden helmet" to develop a "big heart", but different battle positions have different emphasis on the physical fitness requirements of soldiers. What kind of training should this difference and pertinence be achieved?
Obviously, these questions need to be answered by professional military physical education teachers.
